I changed the oil and filter. ( I don't know what oil was in it, the filter was a white one, don't know who made it.) I put in Mobil 1 synthetic10w-30 and a Fram PH16 filter. From the start the oil pressure was about 10# lower (40). After reading here about filters, I changed to a Super Tech ST 16. The oil pressure is now higher (45-50).The SuperTech st6607 may be a step down in terms of size, but it in no way loses the qualities that make the st9688 so good. Basically, this is the oil filter that you would want to use on a smaller engine as it is a full ½ smaller drum. Still, the same stamped steel cover plates come with this model as well.I know for a fact from personal experience, the 9688/3593a, 51334 size will not fit a 2017 2.5L Rogue because of the restriction ring. So, you need to look at the area around the oil filter. Really the 6607 is big enough for a regularly maintained engine. Also the newest GM ACD use metal endcaps as shown in the PF64, as opposed to felt/fiber in topic. Otoh, the newer ST9688 uses a similar to the ACDelco design.
